KINGSTON, Jamaica — Chronixx, arguably the hottest act in contemporary reggae, is one of the headliners for this year’s Groovin’ in The Park show, scheduled for June 29 in Queens, New York.

The event marks the singer’s outdoor debut in the Big Apple. In January, he performed alongside guitar great Ernie Ranglin as guests of Jamaican Jazz maestro Monty Alexander at the Blue Note Jazz Club in Manhattan.

“Chronixx is the hottest reggae artiste on the circuit right now and we are extremely pleased to present him for the first time to music fans in New York at our outdoor festival this year,” said Christopher Roberts, founder and CEO of Groovin Inc.

?Chronixx had an outstanding 2013, thanks to the hit songs ‘Smile Jamaica’ and ‘Here Comes Trouble’. They confirmed his status as a bona fide star.

Groovin’ in The Park has become one of the most popular live shows on the New York City music scene.

Since 2011, a number of high-profile Rhythm and Blues and dancehall/reggae artistes have performed on ‘Groovin’. They include singer/songwriter Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds, Monica, Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Tyrese, Mavado, Queen Ifrica, Barrington Levy, Beenie Man, Beres Hammond and Steel Pulse.
