Attorney STEPHEN LLOYD DRUMMOND is a Partner of the Law Firm of Drummond & Squillace, PLLC where he serves as co-lead counsel in the Civil Litigation (Federal and State) and Criminal Defense Law Groups. Mr. Drummond has served as lead attorney on numerous high-profile criminal and civil cases including, but not limited to: Homicide, White Collar Crimes, Copyright Infringements cases.

In 2009, Stephen L. Drummond was elected as Village Judge/Justice of the Incorporated Village of Freeport where he presided until March 2013. As Village Judge, Mr. Drummond presided over misdemeanor cases, code violations, Vehicle and Traffic Law violations and instituted a community service program directed to addressing quality of life offenses for the betterment of the Village of Freeport, New York. In addition, as Village Judge, Mr. Drummond was responsible for the supervision of over twelve Village Court employees and over Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) in annual Village Court revenue. As of November of 2021, Mr. Drummond was appointed by the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Freeport as an Associate Justice, in which capacity he also currently serves.

After graduating the University of Miami, School of Law, Mr. Drummond served as a prosecutor in the Queens County District Attorney’s Office where he prosecuted criminal cases from arrest, to indictment, to trial. While at the District Attorney’s Office, Stephen L. Drummond also wrote several Appellate briefs and argued significant legal issues before the Appellate Division, Second Department. Mr. Drummond has also had his legal opinions published. In 2000, Stephen L. Drummond joined the Wall Street firm of Conway, Farrell, Curtin & Kelly, P.C. as a trial attorney. There, he handled all phases of civil litigation including jury trials. As an Associate, Mr. Drummond successfully represented clients including, but not limited to:

In 1998, Mr. Drummond was commissioned by the Congress of the United States as an Officer in the United States Army Reserves, Judge Advocate General Corps, (JAG) and in 2021, after Twentynine Years of Honorable Military Service—Enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps upon graduation from High School and then being Commissioned in the U.S. Army Reserves, Judge Advocate Corps. In the United States Army Reserves, LTC Drummond served as the Trial Counsel for the 7th Legal Support Organization, Fort Totten, New York, the Trial Counsel for the 8th Medical Brigade, The Staff Judge Advocate for the 8th Medical Brigade and, The Staff Judge Advocate of the 75th Training Battalion, Fort Dix, New Jersey, the Staff Judge Advocate, United States Army Reserves, Sustainment Command TACOM in Warren, Michigan and Chief of Administrative Law, 99th Readiness Division, JBMDL, NJ. In the United States Army Reserves, LTC Drummond has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, with one Oakleaf Cluster, the Army Commendation Medal, with two Oakleaf Cluster, the Army Achievement Medal, with two Oakleaf Cluster, the Officer Basic Course Ribbon and the Reserve Achievement Component Medal. He is a graduate of the Officer Basic Course, the Advance Course and the Intermediate Level Education, (ILE Phase III). He has served as Legal Advisor to the Command in Germany and three separate exercises in South Korea, including most recently August of 2017.

Prior to law school, Stephen L. Drummond served six years enlisted active duty in the United States  Marine Corps where he attained the rank of Sergeant and served at Marine Corps Headquarters, the Pentagon and in the Offices of Public and Legislative Affairs. Sergeant Drummond also served as a Marine Liaison at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. He has been awarded the Navy Achievement Medal the Navy Achievement Medal for his service to this nation during the Persian Gulf War, the National Defense Medal, two awards of the Good Conduct Medal.

Mr. Drummond is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Education, with honors, majoring in Business Administration, Human Resources and a specialization in Criminal Justice. Mr. Drummond obtained his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Miami, School of Law where he was a Member of the Moot Court Board where represented the University of Miami, School of Law in national Moot Court competitions. He also served as the Executive Editor for the University of Miami, School of Law Yearbook of International Law Review.

Stephen L. Drummond’s legal work has been featured on MSNBC’s The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, WPIX Channel 11 News, News Channel 12 Long Island, as well as, repeatedly featured in Newsday, the Daily News, the New York Post, the New York Times and the New York Law Journal. Mr. Drummond is routinely called upon to provide legal commentary on legal issues/cases of public interest including to MSNBC’s The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, WPIX Channel 11 News, News Channel 12 Long Island, Newsday, the Daily News, the New York Post, the New York Times, 93.5 FM Radio and to local religious and/or civic institutions/associations. In 2014, Mr. Drummond received Citation and Special Commendation from the Office of the Executive of Nassau County for his service to the community.

Mr. Drummond previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. He previously served as a member of the advisory board of the Lehman College Paralegal Program. He also served on the Amicus Committee of the New York Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Drummond is admitted to practice in the Bar of the State of New York, State of New Jersey and State of Florida.

Mr. Drummond is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. From 1987 to 1993, Mr. Drummond was a member of the United States Marine Corps’ Soccer Team and served as the Team’s Captain in 1992. He also was a member of the United States Armed Forces Soccer Team from 1988-1992 and represented the United States National Military Soccer Team in two Military World Cup Competition at the Conseil International Du Sport Miltaire Championships (CISM)—Military Soccer World Cup in Holland, Italy and Canada.
