Steven Golding is the President of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) and African Communities League in Jamaica. A Professor of Garveyism, Golding chaired the Garvey studies department at the Hydel University in St. Catherine, Jamaica, and lectures on the philosophy of Marcus Garvey at the primary, secondary, and tertiary level. He has executively produced media content on both radio and television since the early 2000s and is also the founding director of Jamaica’s only authentic African cuisine restaurant Café Africa.
He serves as a member of the Jamaican National Council on Reparations as well as the Institue of Jamaica Council and has served as Chairman of the African Caribbean Institute of Jamaica (ACIJ) & the Jamaica Memory Bank. Steven Golding is the son of Jamaica’s eight Prime Minister (Bruce Golding) and grandson of Jamaica’s first speaker of the house of representatives post independence (Tacius Golding).
A graduate of The Johns Hopkins University, Golding is married to Jamaican media personality Emprezz and together they have one son, Tacius Kush and a daughter, Zipporah Anuli.
