Dr. Rose Marie Adamson-Lewis, an esteemed alumna of Miami University, embodies excellence
in healthcare and community service. With a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Board Certification
as a Family Nurse Practitioner, specializing in psychiatric disorders and mental health, Dr. Lewis
exemplifies a profound commitment to her field.
As an Associate Professor of Pathophysiology and Mental Health, she imparts her expertise to
the next generation of healthcare professionals. Dr. Lewis also serves as the esteemed owner and
founder of Total Healthcare Services & Wellness, as well as the visionary behind Rose’s Garden
of Hope Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering tangible opportunities in
healthcare, education, and youth advocacy. To perfect her business, she completes her master’s in
business administration (MBA)from Miami Regional University in August of 2024.
Dr. Lewis's impact extends beyond borders as she proudly represents Jamaica in the Southeast
USA. Her leadership is evident through her tenure as the two-term President of the Jamaica
Diaspora Southern United States (JADIAS) and past treasurer for the Jamaican Diaspora
Advisory Board, Southern United States. Additionally, she serves as President of the Caribbean
American Democratic Club of Broward County.
For many years, Dr. Lewis has selflessly served her community through medical missions to
Jamaica, adoption of Robin’s Hall Health Center in Manchester, and active participation in the
Diaspora Movement for over 17 years, among other endeavors. Internationally, she has
advocated for youth empowerment in the UK, Paris, the Caribbean, and Cayman Islands, and
mars solid contacts through her recent visit to South Africa. She amplifies her voice through
various platforms including television, radio, and public forums. Dr. Lewis was recently featured
on “Profile” TVJ, With Mr. Archibald Gordon, and on Smile Jamaica “TVJ” with Neville Bell.
A distinguished member of multiple boards, including the Caribbean Anti-Trafficking
Committee (CAC), and Partners For Youth Foundation, Dr. Lewis demonstrates a steadfast
commitment to effecting positive change. Notably, her advocacy for Mental Health extends
globally, spanning across the USA, UK, Europe, and the Caribbean.
In recognition of her exceptional contributions, Dr. Lewis was honored with a Lifetime
Achievement Award for community service and volunteerism by President Joseph R. Biden in
2022. In 2023, she was appointed as liaison to the White House Faith-Based Cabinet Offices,
furthering her impact on a national scale. Recently, she received The Humanitarian Award from
the International Day of Conscience at the United Nations, underscoring her dedication to
humanitarian causes. On September 19, 2024, during the 79 th United Nations General Assembly
in New York, she received the Key to the City of New York, and the Conscience Clock Award
from the Federation of World Peace and Love. Last month she received the International
Distinguished leadership award at the World leaders Peace and Harmony Gala by the African
and Caribbean International Leadership Conference.
Dr. Lewis has been speaking on numerous platforms bringing awareness to Mental Health
challenges. One of her most recent talks on WAVS radio, earned her national and international
television presence in Asian communities, when her rousing speech was translated in mandarin.
Amidst the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Lewis emerged as a champion in
telehealth, addressing maladaptive behavior, mental health deficits, and psychiatric disorders
with compassion and expertise. Dr. Lewis's unwavering commitment to serving communities,
both locally and in her homeland of Jamaica, reflects her profound dedication to
humanitarianism. Her enduring legacy of service and advocacy continues to inspire and uplift
those around her.
